2024 Community Supported Agriculture
Traditional CSA Box Share Program
A CSA Box Share is a give-give relationship between farmer and eater (thats you!). It provides the farmer up-front money when the season is at its slowest (literal seed money), and it gives the eater a chance to know where their food comes from.
What do we do as the farmers?
Aside from tending these fine vegetables, we strive to craft each box with a green like lettuce, kale or beet greens along with a root crop like turnips or carrots. Weekly shares will receive a culinary herb such as cilantro, basil, ginger or lemongrass. Onions or garlic make almost weekly appearances and we will add fruits like zucchini, cucumber and raspberries help to round out the weekly share.
What do you do as a member?
Pick up your share in a timely fashion and eat the food! You may find new and creative ways to cook vegetables, or rediscover old favorites.
What are the details of the CSA?
Where? Pickup is at Patch Farm / 570 E Main Street / Denmark, Maine
When? Pickup is from 3-6 PM on Tuesdays for 16 weeks starting late June.
Tell me about the share size!
We have one share size to rule them all! Our share size is $400 ($25/week), feeds 2-4 people and has an average actual value of $485 - thats a great savings!
Tell me about the egg share!
We offer two egg share sizes with certified organic eggs fresh from our farm. Our happy hens roam on pasture, guarded by our two sweet Livestock Guarding Dogs, Kraut and Kimchi. Our ladies live in mobile chicken coops and help to fertilize our pasture as well as provide delicious eggs.
What if I don’t like a vegetable in the CSA box?
Each week we offer at least one choice item on some of the more unusual items - don’t like parsley but love basil? You’ve got a choice! Want to swap out the zucchini? Check the swap basket and trade items!
Anything else I should know?
You’ll get a e-mail newsletter each week with recipes to help you cook and preserve your bounty. You’ll also get updates and notes from the farm as the season gets underway.
How do we pay?
Check in the mail: Our mailing address is 570 E Main Street / Denmark, Maine 04022
Venmo: @PatchFarm_ME. We are asking folx add a bit to this option to help us cover the Venmo fees.
SNAP/EBT: We are excited to continue to take SNAP and EBT directly at our farm, and offering SNAP/EBT customers 50% off our CSA shares. These payments will be made at regular, monthly intervals, rather then in one lump sum.
